CSK fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming IPL 2023 season, which begins on March 31st. The Chennai-based team will be playing at their home ground, Chepauk Stadium, after a long gap, and speculation abounds whether this will be the last season for former Indian captain MS Dhoni. While there has been no official announcement from CSK management, former India and CSK batter Suresh Raina believes that Dhoni might continue playing for CSK in the next IPL season.
During a conversation at the LLC Masters, Raina discussed Dhoni’s fitness and the team’s strengths, which include a mix of experience and youth. “He’s been batting well and looking fit, it depends on how the performance is this year,” Raina said. “It may be a little challenging since him and (Ambati) Rayudu haven’t played the tournament since one year. I think the team is quite strong, a lot of young players are coming through the ranks. Let’s see how they play.”
Raina added, “I wish he could, but we’ll have to see what his commitments are. He can play the IPL next year as well, you never know.” With a strong team and a home-ground advantage, CSK fans are looking forward to an exciting season with Dhoni at the helm.
