Virat Kohli was praised by India head coach Rahul Dravid for his performance in the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kohli hammered 186 from 364 balls in India’s first-innings total of 571.
Meanwhile, Indian coach Dravid was questioned about Kohli’s century, and he commended Kohli for keeping his ego in check throughout the series.
“The one thing we learned here was that no matter how excellent a player you are, you must control your ego at times, which is why you score 75 centuries. As coaches, we experience frustration from time to time. I hear a lot that this is my style, and I will only play in this manner “Dravid said this in a post-match interview with Star Sports.
“A huge player demonstrated in this match that if the circumstance is like that, and the team is going little defensive and not giving you limits, you can score a century while playing differently and for the team. You only hit five home runs in the first 100 runs “the coach added.
Dravid also said that the top hitter might have easily threw away his wicket in order to take the assault to the Australian bowlers. “He may have been irritated. He could have claimed he’d hit and dominate, but he recognised the team didn’t need that in that moment. This is a terrific player’s speciality “Dravid said.
