Former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni has signed a deal with Viacom18, a leading media agency, and will be featured as the brand ambassador for Sports18 and JioCinema. JioCinema is set to launch a campaign promoting the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) edition, and Dhoni will be part of it.
Dhoni expressed his excitement about the deal, stating that digital platforms offer viewers the opportunity to enjoy their favourite sport in ways that were previously impossible. With interactivity, personalisation, and choice, a digital platform is the best way to watch sports. Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, following the team’s defeat to New Zealand in the semi-finals of the 2019 ICC World Cup.
