LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir has showered praise on the team’s skipper, KL Rahul, during the launch of their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Gambhir said that the franchise is very fortunate to have someone like Rahul leading the side, and his stable and balanced head will be a massive positive for the team.
Gambhir, who himself led the Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles, highlighted the importance of a captain’s role in a team’s success. He said that the captain is the flag bearer of the team, and it is the body language of the captain that will decide how the team performs.
The former Indian opener further praised Rahul for his captaincy skills and said that Lucknow Super Giants will benefit from his leadership qualities. He wished that he had the stability and balance that Rahul possesses during his playing days.
Rahul, who has been in excellent form with the bat in recent times, will be leading LSG for the first time in the upcoming IPL season. The franchise will be looking to turn their fortunes around after finishing at the bottom of the table in the previous edition.
