Sourav Ganguly predicts India’s clean sweep over Australia in Test series

Former India captain and current BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly, has confidently predicted a clean sweep for India over Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India dominated the first two Tests and comfortably retained the coveted Trophy yet again, taking a 2-0 lead in the four-match Test series. Australia were outplayed in every department in both Tests and have received a lot of criticism post the defeats.

“I see 4-0. It will be hard for Australia to beat India. In these conditions, we are a far superior team,” Ganguly said to RevSportz, expressing his confidence about India’s victory. He believes that India is far superior in subcontinental conditions and looking at the condition of the current Australian squad touring India for this series, it is a no-brainer that India would be convincingly winning the remaining two Tests and clean sweeping Australia.

Former Australia cricketer Greg Chappel was among the many cricket pundits who were critical of Australia’s disappointing outings. He stated that Australia had only themselves to blame for making a complete mess of both their outings against India. Chappel suggested that Australia needs to show maturity in choosing a proper playing XI with the players who are already existing within the team if they are to make anything out of the remaining two Test matches.

After the conclusion of the second Test in Delhi, the players have been given a nine-day break to spend quality time with their families. They will resume national duties for the third and penultimate Test, commencing on March 1, 2023, at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
