The Women’s Premier League’s debut season is well underway, with clubs beginning to reveal their uniforms for the elite women’s T20 tournament. Following the Mumbai Indians unveiled their uniform on February 25, the Gujarat Giants unveiled theirs on February 26.
The Giants took to Twitter to release a video of their new uniform design. “Please accept our jersey for the inaugural season of the @wplt20. “The gorgeous shirt represents the zeal and excitement of our lionesses who are eager to give it their all in the first season!” said the tweet.
The shirt is orange with a lioness emblazoned on the right, representing the players’ desire and energy. The name of Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner is also etched on the reverse side, which might be a clue that Gardner will captain the Giants in their maiden season.

On February 25, the Giants began their preparations for the first WPL season with their first-ever training session.
The first season of the WPL will begin on March 4 with a match between the Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai Indians at DY Patil Stadium.
The first season would feature five franchises competing against each other twice in the league stage, with 22 matches taking place across two locations in Mumbai: Brabourne Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium.
The team that finishes first in the points table will automatically qualify for the final, while the teams who finish second and third will compete in the Eliminator. The winner of the eliminator will go to the finals.
