Women’s Premier League 2023: Mumbai Indians reveal brand new kit ahead of the first season

The countdown to the start of the much-anticipated first Women’s Premier League 2023 (WPL) has begun, and gradually, the tournament logo, franchises, franchise logo, team players, and everything else is being unveiled to sports enthusiasts.

To top it off, the Mumbai Indians have released the official tournament shirt, which the players will wear during their matches. A section of the Mumbai Indians team has already begun practising in preparation for the tournament.

Mumbai Indians debuted their shirt, which looks quite similar to the men’s uniform, via their official social media channels. The video’s description said, “It’s what Superheroes wear.”

Harmanpreet Kaur, India’s captain, was signed by the Mumbai Indians for INR 1.80 crore. Several cricket commentators praised the Mumbai Indians’ move, stating that having a quality captain would surely offer a psychological edge to the players, and Harmanpreet has the capacity to encourage her players significantly.

On paper, the Mumbai Indians performed well during the auction, yet some say their bowling department is a touch weak in comparison to their opponents. But, only time will tell how the Mumbai Indians do in the maiden edition.

The inaugural match will be played on March 4, 2023, between the Mumbai Indians versus the Gujarat Giants.
