Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has lauded current India cricketer Ravindra Jadeja for his outstanding performance against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. Jadeja has been the key player in India’s victories in the first two Tests and was declared Player of the Match in both. Harbhajan praised Jadeja for his all-round abilities, saying that he is currently the best all-rounder in world cricket and that only Ben Stokes could be compared to him.
“Ravindra Jadeja’s abilities are something no one can question. He has been brilliant with the ball as usual, but especially with the bat, he has improved so much that even if you send him at No. 4 or No. 5, he will give you the runs you need. In world cricket, I feel he is the best all-rounder at the moment. Only Ben Stokes can be compared with him,” Harbhajan said while speaking to Sports Tak.
Harbhajan also emphasized that Jadeja is one of India’s best assets at the moment and needs to be managed in the best possible manner, as he is one dependable player whom the team can turn to in case of any crisis. He praised Jadeja’s accuracy and stump-to-stump line, which Australia failed to read in the second Test.
“Jadeja ensured there was no compromise on the accuracy. His stump-to-stump line was relentless, and the Aussies tried to play the sweep shot, something that won’t work on this track with low bounce,” Harbhajan commented.
Harbhajan concluded by saying that Jadeja has always been exceptional with the ball, but with his improved batting, he should be looked at as a solid middle-order option for Team India, especially to bail them out during crunch situations.
