Jio announces plans to broadcast the IPL in 4K HD definition

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League is rapidly approaching, and audience interest is already building. This season, Jio-led Sports18 will broadcast the IPL in the nation, and according to sources, they would give a 4K quality stream of the competition.

A formal declaration on the subject is anticipated shortly. This time around, Jio also got the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup in India. They were scrutinised and chastised by fans for poor management of the show, as well as a slew of technical difficulties. But, as the competition progressed, so did the quality of the World Cup broadcasts.

According to Exchange4media, Sports18 is also said to have invested a few hundred crores to establish a new and upgraded technology staff to manage this year’s IPL. make sure that no technical faults arise this time around and the fans may enjoy a pleasant viewing experience of the event.

Jio is also planning to make the IPL accessible on every mobile device in the language of the viewer’s choice. The site is looking towards streaming the competition in 16-17 other languages, including Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Odia, among others.

“Appointment viewing” is another new function that is being implemented. Instead of having to wait for the broadcaster to present the scoreboard and other graphics, this feature lets the spectator examine them whenever they choose.

Before, a Hotstar membership was necessary to view the IPL, but since the league’s broadcaster has changed, it is expected that the tournament would be aired for free on Jio Cinema.
