Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav had previously been a potent spin combo for India. Both spinners, dubbed ‘KulCha,’ have provided important breakthroughs for the Indian team on several occasions. Nonetheless, both athletes have recently experienced a type of downturn.
Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has said that both Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav should be included in the Indian side for better performance. It should be noted that both spinners were selected for India’s second T20I against New Zealand in Lucknow.
In the second T20I, Chahal and Yadav both put up strong performances against the Black Caps. Both spinners took a wicket apiece and were crucial in preventing the Black Caps from setting an impossible mark.
Kaif also remarked that the addition of Washington Sundar gives the selectors more leeway in experimenting with the bowling lineup. The addition of Washington Sundar at number 7 provides the club with a much-needed boost in both the bowling and batting lineups.
Kaif stated on the Star Sports programme ‘Match Point’ about it: “You can certainly do three and three. It’s absolutely on since they’re good bowlers. Kuldeep and Chahal bring a wealth of expertise with them. The batter who bats seventh is an all-rounder.”
“You can experiment with Washington Sundar because you have a batter at No. 7. In T20 cricket, you only need to bat till No. 7 since No. 8 does not get to bat. So you’ve got a good batter at No. 7 “He went on to say.
It would be interesting to observe whatever playing combination Hardik Pandya selects for the third and final T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
