Mehidy Hasan Elevated to Elite Status with All-Format Contract from Bangladesh Cricket Board
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed a new contract for 21 players for 2023. According to Cricbuzz, the board honoured certain significant players as well as some new players for their outstanding efforts. Mehidy Hasan, who played some fantastic innings in the just finished series with India, is one such player.
The all-format contract was won by the outstanding all-rounder. In addition, Khaled Ahmed, Zakir Hasan, Musaddek Hossain, and Hasan Mahmud have been added to the national roster. The agreement will be in effect until December 31, 2023.
Mehidy acquired an all-format deal as a result of multiple excellent performances across forms over the last several months. In a comparable category, the BCB also listed Shakib al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, and Litton Das.
Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan, Naim Sheikh, and Yasir Ali, on the other hand, were unable to keep their spots in the central contract. Mushfiqur Rahim also lost all-format contracts and was only given contracts for Tests and ODIs.
The 25-year-old all-rounder has been outstanding in recent months, delivering game-changing performances for Bangladesh. He was named Man of the Series in the One-Day Internationals against India, taking four wickets and scoring 141 runs in three matches, including a century against India when Bangladesh was six wickets down for only 69 runs.
He also wowed everyone during the Test series, grabbing 11 wickets in four innings. His consistency and mental fortitude on the field won him an all-format contract with Bangladesh cricket.
