Chasing the target, the home side were jolted early with the loss of two wickets, but veteran Marizanne Kapp and Proteas skipper Sune Luus threatened with a counter-attacking stand. However, India tightened their grip on the match with some excellent ground fielding and smart work by their spinners, who choked the run flow and took wickets at regular intervals. Deepti Sharma, who also played a crucial role with the bat, displayed her all-round brilliance by snaring three wickets and helping India seal a comfortable victory.
It was a great team effort by India and a debut to remember for Amanjot Kaur. The visitors will look to continue their winning momentum in the upcoming matches.
