Rishabh Pant on the Road to Recovery: Discharge in 2 Weeks, Rehabilitation in 2 Months

Rishabh Pant, India’s top cricketer, is expected to be released from the hospital in around two weeks after undergoing numerous procedures, the most recent of which being knee surgery.

This is encouraging news for Pant and Indian cricket fans. On December 30, 2022, he was killed in an automobile accident while going from New Delhi to Roorkee to surprise his mother for New Year’s Eve.

According to The Times Of India, Pant has been monitored to check whether the ligaments are mending organically. He will begin rehabilitation after the ligaments have healed. His position will be reviewed again in two months. He might be ready to play in four to six weeks. MCL surgery, according to the physicians, was definitely essential. According to the article, the road to rehabilitation for the southpaw will be difficult.

“The ligaments usually heal in four to six weeks. After that, rehab and strengthening will begin. His return to play will be assessed in another two months. Pant realises that it will be a tough road. He would have to undergo counseling sessions too. It could be four to six months before he can start playing,” a BCCI official confirmed.

Pant, who made his international debut in February 2017, was part of the India Test team that defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in Dhaka in December 2022. Rishabh Pant hit a match-winning 93-run knock in the first innings of the second Test at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
