Team India Ready to Take on New Zealand in Hyderabad

The Indian squad landed in Hyderabad for the forthcoming ODI series against New Zealand after a convincing series victory over Sri Lanka. Indian captain Rohit Sharma arrived first, followed by his deputy Hardik Pandya. In a video supplied by broadcasters Star Sports, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and former Indian captain Virat Kohli were also seen arriving at the Hyderabad airport.

The Indian squad, headed by Rohit Sharma, destroyed Sri Lanka in the series finale in Kerala, recording the largest win (by runs) in ODI history. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli shined brightest on the day, guiding his team to a rout of the visitors and completing a clean sweep of the three-match series.

However, the host team will now play a three-match One-Day International series against New Zealand, the world’s top-ranked ODI squad. The Kiwis will be a far tougher challenge for the hosts, having just completed a historic series triumph over Pakistan on their own turf.

The Men in Blue were soundly trounced by the Kiwis in their most recent match, which was hampered by heavy weather. When Rohit Sharma’s team enter the field for the first ODI in Hyderabad on Wednesday, January 18, they will be out for vengeance. The next two matches will be played in Raipur and Indore, followed by a three-match T20I series. The series will also decide India’s standing in the 50-over World Cup, which will be held on the Indian subcontinent later this year.
