Aakash Chopra is dissatisfied with Sarfaraz Khan’s exclusion from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Suryakumar Kumar Yadav and fellow India teammate Ishan Kishan were both given their first test call-ups when the roster was revealed on January 13. Despite a steady domestic record, Sarfaraz Khan was once again overlooked by the selection.

Sarfaraz Khan had done everything to be recognised for national selection, according to the 45-year-old, and it was terribly sad that the child did not make the cut. Despite his stellar domestic record, the 25-year-failure old’s to get selected may demotivate him.

“Sarfaraz’s name is still not there. He feels he got cheated because his name probably should have come. Bumrah is still not there. That’s another news but I am more concerned that Sarfaraz is not there, as he has done everything in his power to be in the Indian team. I am a little disappointed, that if you had a chance to select even one guy because both Surya and Sarfaraz don’t come in the XI, Sarfaraz had the right in my opinion. If someone’s domestic season is going so good, you should have rewarded him,” Chopra said.

Furthermore, he emphasised that, apart from Sarfaraz, only Sir Don Bradman had an average of 80 or higher in the matches he played. It was pretty harsh on the boy with such a stellar record.
