Former Proteas Men’s captain AB de Villiers is looking forward to making his commentary debut at the SA20 tournament, which begins on January 10th. De Villiers leads a great team of SuperSport analysts and broadcasters who will call the action from South Africa’s much-anticipated new league.
De Villiers, often known as “MR. 360,” will bring to the commentary booth all of the flare and inventiveness that he delighted fans all over the globe with during his playing days.
“I am a cricket fan at heart, and I can’t wait to be behind the mike to see the spectacular performances from the world’s finest players during the SA20. “I am excited to be joining some of my former colleagues and cricketing great for this wonderful occasion,” stated De Villiers.
The iconic Proteas slip cordon has been reunited on the SA20 commentary team, with De Villiers joined by former national team colleagues Mark Boucher, Ashwell Prince, Shaun Pollock, Herschelle Gibbs, Chris Morris, and Vernon Philander.
Former England internationals Kevin Pietersen and Darren Gough will also join the squad, with the familiar silky-smooth voice of the seasoned Mark Nicholas holding it all together.
The line-up includes further international flavour, with Pakistan’s enormously popular Zainab Abbas joining South Africa’s first lady of cricket Kass Naidoo, Urooj Mumtaz, Pommie Mbangwa, Mike Haysman, and former West Indies T20 World Cup-winning captain Daren Sammy.
The SA20 broadcast will strive to provide fans across the globe with new and fascinating viewpoints on the SA20 coverage, bringing the’sportainment’ element to life.
SuperSport, Africa’s largest broadcaster, will introduce new-look technology and technologies to provide the best watching experience possible for the SA20 coverage. SuperSport in Sub-Saharan Africa, JioCinema, Sports18, Colors Tamil in India, and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom will all show all 33 matches live.
JioCinema and Sports18 will put together a star-studded panel to showcase SA20 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
