KL Rahul believes Suryakumar Yadav deserved to be the man of the match in the 2nd T20I against South Africa

India made history on Sunday evening as the Men in Blue overcame South Africa in the second T20I to win the series with a game to spare. The Indian hitters had a wonderful day as they struck a mammoth 237/3 in the first innings, but KL Rahul was shocked to get the Player of the Match award.

Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul said, deserved to be named Player of the Match for his quick-fire brave 22-ball 61, which had a significant influence on India’s 16-run triumph in the high-scoring game. Yadav was run-out due to miscommunication with Virat Kohli, although he performed a significant performance when batting at No. 4.

Suryakumar Yadav was not the only Indian who contributed to the game. Notably, all five hitters who stepped out to bat in the opening two innings played critical roles in the game. KL Rahul was at his ruthless best in the second game, smashing a 27-ball 58 to continue his fine form from the previous game, in which he also scored a half-century.

Suryakumar Yadav took leadership with veteran batsman Virat Kohli after Rahul and Rohit Sharma put up a 98-run opening partnership. Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli put up a match-winning 102-run partnership for the third wicket to help India set a new record total of 237. The South African hitters also presented a danger to India throughout their chase, but the spinners were able to limit them as India won the high-scoring thriller by 16 runs.
