ICC World T20 2022 – 3 Indian Players who should be benched or dropped from the squad

The countdown to the ICC T20 Globe Cup 2022 has started, and in a few weeks, cricket fans from all around the world will be entertained. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 kicks out on October 16. On October 24, India will play their first game against Pakistan. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian squad at the competition.

Selectors utilized their best judgment in selecting strong pacers, spinners, hitters, and all-rounders for India’s side. There are, however, a few players that may be a burden to the club. In this article, we discuss three Indian players that should be dismissed from India’s T20 World Cup lineup if the country is to win the tournament.

.

Number 1. Ravichandran Ashwin

Despite his extensive expertise, Ashwin is not a frequent player in the shortest format. The right-arm spinner has only played six games in 2022 and has taken five wickets at an average of 29.40 and an economy of 6.12.

Ashwin bowled four overs in a recent T20I against South Africa but did not take any wickets. All of the other bowlers took at least one wicket throughout the game. Axar Patel really impressed in the last T20I series against Australia, and he is likely to be included in the starting XI for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Furthermore, Ashwin is not a strong all-rounder since he lacks hard-hitting batting ability. As a result, for the T20 World Cup in 2022, Ashwin should be replaced by another full-time spinner or all-rounder.

Number 2. Harshal Patel

The right-arm bowler has been included in India’s team for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022. Patel was sidelined for many months before returning to the squad in the current IND versus AUS T20I series. He appeared in all three T20Is against Australia.

Patel, on the other hand, failed to provide a strong performance. He only took one wicket in three games, at an average of 99.0. He was also quite costly at a 12.38 economy rate and gave up a lot of runs in the death overs. As a result, Patel should be replaced in the team by another pacer, such as Mohammed Shami or Deepak Chahar.

.

Number 3. Deepak Hooda

The right-handed batsman made his international debut this year and has since appeared in 12 T20Is. He has pitched well, allowing 293 runs in 9 innings for an average of 41.85. Hooda, on the other hand, failed to score runs at critical periods during the recent Asia Cup 2022 match.

Hooda is an all-rounder, but he’s terrible at bowling. The right-arm spinner has only bowled 6 overs in 4 games, picking up 1 wicket. As a result, Hooda is not a dependable supplementary spinner for the squad. Hooda might be replaced by another player in order to enhance India’s roster for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022.
