Sri Lanka has unveiled their T20 World Cup 2022 jersey

Sri Lanka is the latest team to showcase its new colors for the 2019 T20 World Cup in Australia. The defending Asian champions will compete in a qualification event in the hopes of reaching the competition’s Super 12 stage. The jersey was officially unveiled by Dasun Shanaka, the Sri Lankan white-ball captain.

Sri Lanka surprised all expectations by winning the 15th Asia Cup, defeating pre-tournament favorites India and Pakistan to claim their sixth Asia Cup crown. While the nation was in the grip of a political and financial crisis, Dasun Shanka led an exciting group of players to ultimate triumph.

The new jersey embodies the feelings of the Sri Lankan people, who have been through a dreadful period on the island country since the turn of the year. The shirt was designed by MAS Holding, which has long been the cricketing nation’s most trusted garment maker. The two newly released jerseys were created with contemporary climate change challenges in mind.

On the 16th of October, Sri Lanka will face Namibia in the first match of the T20 World Cup. The Islanders will be one of the tournament’s underdogs, but considering their previous triumphs in the shortest version of the game, all of the other competing teams will be cautious of the Sri Lankans.
