IPL 2023 – 3 Players who the Chennai Super Kings may trade away

With four IPL titles to their record, Chennai Super Kings are the second-most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League. CSK, on the other hand, had a terrible season in IPL 2022 and was nothing near the fearsome side of the old. The Chennai franchise ended second-last with just four victories in 14 games, as several important players failed to live up to expectations.

There were reportedly schisms inside the group, which did not help matters. The four-time IPL winners must begin their rebuilding process, and the trade window provides an excellent chance to do so. Certain players who do not fit in the long run may be released by the team’s management. Here are some players, who we think, will be traded away by the Chennai Super Kings.

.

Number 1. Adam Milne

Adam Milne performed well in the Hundred’s debut edition in 2021. He grabbed 12 wickets for Birmingham Phoenix with a 5.73 economy rate. His value was rising, and CSK added him to their arsenal in the just concluded IPL season.

CSK already had bowlers like Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorious, and Maheesh Theekshana, and with the three doing well for the club, the speedster was never going to be the first-choice pacer. Furthermore, he was hurt. Milne was unable to make a significant effect on the result of his lone encounter and went wicketless.

Despite Milne’s injury history, it seems like he will remain in the plans of the four-time IPL winners in the future. The New Zealand bowler might be released soon, and other clubs may try to choose him during the trade window.

Number 2. Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan has a track record of success on the T20 circuit. He has often shown his bowling skills for England but has yet to light up the Indian Premier League with his performances with the ball.

CSK chose Jordan to solve their death-bowling woes at the IPL Auction 2022, but the experienced bowler was unable to live up to the team’s expectations. The 33-year-old just took two wickets and surrendered runs at a 10.52 economy rate in four games.

Jordan was dropped from the squad after his poor performance. The Chennai franchise did not give the England star another chance, suggesting that the think tank has moved on from the ace-bowler. The Barbados native might be moved during the forthcoming trading window.

.

Number 3. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja has been a top all-rounder in global cricket and has shown his worth in the IPL. The 33-year-old was appointed captain ahead of the 2022 season after MS Dhoni stood down from the position. However, the new skipper was unable to motivate his team to a streak of wins, and CSK faced an early departure.

Also, Jadeja was not his usual self with the bat or ball, and it seemed that the leadership had taken its toll on him. As a result, CSK chose to remove the experienced all-rounder from leadership, and MS Dhoni was sent to Chennai. The 33-year-old was then sidelined due to injury, and there were reports that he was dissatisfied with the management.

The rift between Jadeja and the management looked to widen lately when the ace all-rounder erased all of his Instagram postings about CSK. Despite the tension, the Chennai club is expected to transfer the experienced player during the forthcoming trading window.

This would also free up INR 16 crore, which might be utilized to construct the side. Despite a dismal performance in IPL 2022, in which he scored only 116 runs with a strike rate of 118.37, the southpaw is still considered as one of the greatest in the game, and several clubs may want to sign the CSK all-rounder.
