3 Indian Players who will fire against Zimbabwe in the upcoming series

India will want to sweep Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series after decimating the Caribbean side in the last series. With the ODI World Cup in 2023 approaching, India is attempting to assemble the ideal team in order to prevent last-minute squabbles. A youthful squad is ready to give their best to cement their position in the Indian set-up, armed with a firm conviction.

Zimbabwe, on the other side, performed well against Bangladesh. They won both the T20 and ODI series, and if they can do it again against India, it would be a watershed moment in their cricketing history. However, with so much expertise under their belts, India will begin as favorite to complete the task. On that topic, here are three Indians to keep an eye on during the series.

Number 1. KL Rahul

In Rohit Sharma’s absence, KL Rahul is slated to lead the squad. He hasn’t played any cricket since the Indian Premier League, so all eyes will be on him, particularly with the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup on the horizon.

It’ll be fascinating to watch where the 30-year-old bats. With Shikhar Dhawan playing well as an opener, Rahul Dravid may be called up to bat in the middle order after the other players return. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan might be India’s openers in the ODI World Cup, therefore Rahul’s role remains uncertain.

Shubman Gill’s performance against the West Indies has earned him the post of the opener. However, it remains to be seen if KL Rahul would give up his berth. Rahul has the luxury of making the decision as captain.

Number 2. Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson has put up some great performances in the IPL and domestic cricket to earn a spot in this Indian side.

With Rishabh Pant struggling, a strong series for Samson might help him re-enter the lineup. He can make bold shots and assist the squad in scoring fast runs. He may also be a consistent finisher if he swings to his strengths.

It remains to be known what Samson will bring to the table in this series, making Jim a player to keep an eye on. Samson has had several chances in the past but has been unable to secure a spot on the club. With his prospects dwindling, Samson will have to show himself against Zimbabwe.

.

Number 3. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav, who was dropped from the starting XI, will be looking for a fantastic series to get back into the picture. He has been in fantastic form since the IPL and was particularly impressive against the West Indies.

The 27-year-old is a wicket-taking bowler who, when combined with Chahal, can be very dangerous in the subcontinent. However, with the ODI World Cup likely to take place in Australia, one of Kuldeep, Yuzvendra Chahal, or Ravi Bishnoi might make the XI, since Ravindra Jadeja has firmly established himself.

Because Chahal and Bishnoi are not on the tour, all eyes will be on Kuldeep in this series. Many people feel that Kuldeep will not play since Axar and Washington will start ahead of him.
