BCB will look into Shakib’s social media post on Betwinner News

The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Thursday (August 4) that it will not allow Shakib Al Hasan to have a sponsorship deal with any betting-related company and that they will investigate a recent social-media post from the all-rounder announcing his partnership with a company called “Betwinner News.”

Existing regulations in the nation place strict restrictions on businesses that support gaming. Allowing gambling firms to operate is a violation of both the law and the constitution.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan said that Shakib would be sent with a notice for failing to notify them of the sponsorship contract. “There are two issues. First and foremost, there is no likelihood of obtaining approval since we will not provide permission. We will not provide clearance for anything linked to betting, Nazmul said. “That suggests he did not seek our consent. Second, we need to know whether or not he really signed a contract.

The recent Betwinner dispute is the latest spat in which the experienced all-rounder has found himself. Shakib was banned from all cricket for a year in 2019 after pleading guilty to three counts of violating the ICC’s anti-corruption policy.
