Star Sports will not be showcasing the ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad during the Asia Cup

Over the past several years, the Star Sports advertising touting ‘Mauka Mauka’ as a build-up to the cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan has piqued the attention and likes of many cricket fans. It initially aired prior to the archrivals’ 2015 World Cup meeting at the Adelaide Oval.

Cricket fans are in for a surprise, as Star Sports has opted not to air this advertising before India’s match against Pakistan on August 28. Because of the tournament’s structure, both sides may face each other on many occasions throughout the 2019 Asia Cup.

According to Cricket Pakistan, the ‘Mauka Mauka’ campaign was created to raise awareness of the Men in Green’s dismal record against India in the World Cup, with the 1992 world champions failing to win a single match. According to the report, the commercial has lost its relevance after India’s 10-wicket defeat to the Babar Azam-led team in last year’s T20 World Cup in Dubai, and as a result, it will no longer be shown.

After the group stage match between archrivals India and Pakistan on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium, the two teams may play again on September 4 in the Super 4s, and if luck holds, they may also meet in the final on September 11.

Following the Asia Cup, the India-Pakistan rivalry will be taken to the next level, with both sides set to face off in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 group stage on October 23 at the historic MCG.

After a 10-wicket thrashing in the T20 World Cup 2021, the Indian squad will be expecting to come out firing in the Asia Cup, with all eyes on captain Rohit Sharma and batting megastar Virat Kohli.
