The first ODI of South Africa’s tour of England will take place on Tuesday at the Riverside Ground. The English squad lost the recent ODI series against India and would be hoping for a better result in this series. This series would be followed by three Twenty20 Internationals and three Test matches. Adil Rashid, who missed the limited-overs series against India, is available for selection and might make the squad.
On this tour, South Africa will play without limited-overs skipper Temba Bavuma. During the T20I series against India last month, he suffered an elbow injury. The ODI series will be led by veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj, while the T20I series will be led by David Miller. Kagiso Rabada is also not in the squad but will be available for T20Is. Last week, South Africa played two warm-up matches against the England Lions. They lost the opening game as England Lions chased down a 319-run target in 37.1 overs. Proteas responded in the second game, winning by 107 runs after scoring 360 runs in total. Due to a finger injury, Quinton de Kock did not bat or maintain a wicket in any of these matches, but he will play in this one.
The match is scheduled to take place on the 19th of July, 2022 at the Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street.

England vs South Africa 1st ODI – Dream11 Top Picks
Jason Roy
Despite losing wickets at the other end, he gave the side a good start in the third ODI against India. He and Ben Stokes accumulated 54 runs for the third wicket before being removed for 41 runs off 31 deliveries. His average against South Africa is the lowest among all teams against whom he has played more than 10 ODIs, and he will be seeking to improve this record in this game.
Reece Topley
He was the English team’s series-winning striker against India. In three One-Day Internationals, he took nine wickets at an average of nine and was the series’ best wicket-taker. The Indian top-order struggled to score against him, and he is likely to do similarly in this game.
David Miller
He has been in excellent form recently and might be a vital part of South Africa’s middle order. His undefeated 36-ball 55-run innings helped South Africa score 318 runs in the first warm-up game.
Anrich Nortje
Anrich Nortje would spearhead South Africa’s pace attack in the absence of Kagiso Rabada. In the second warm-up game, he took two crucial wickets for the side and allowed 63 runs in eight overs. Nortje has 22 wickets in 12 One-Day Internationals at an average of 25.77, an economy of 5.51, and a strike rate of 28.
