After three seasons as Bengal’s head coach, Arun Lal resigns

Arun Lal resigns as Bengal’s head coach after three seasons due to the “taxing” nature of the job. He felt compelled to halt before being “kicked out.” He believes Bengal has been performing well and is on the right track.

Lal stated that, while he would miss being a part of the team, he needs to give himself time. When it comes to the Indian domestic circuit, he believes Bengal is on the right track to winning a trophy. He believes the competition has gotten tougher, pointing out that the finalists this season did not even make it to the semifinals last season.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has yet to name Lal’s replacement. Former Bengal off-spinner Saurasish Lahiri currently serves as an assistant coach, and former Bengal all-rounder Joydeep Mukherjee serves as Director of Cricket. Bengal, led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, lost in the semifinals of the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season to Madhya Pradesh, who went on to win the competition.
