NCA coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule, and Munish Bali will accompany VVS Laxman on India’s tour of Ireland

As the Indian team prepares for the upcoming Ireland series, VVS Laxman’s coaching staff will include NCA coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule, and Munish Bali, who will aid Laxman over the course of the two T20Is. While Kotak will be in control of the batting, Bahutule and Bali will be in charge of bowling and fielding, respectively.

Kotak has already worked with the Indian A squad, while Bahutule and Bali were with the Indian Under-19 team when they won the World Cup earlier this year. The head coach, Laxman, and all three members of the support staff have extensive field experience, and expectations are high of them.

The BCCI is yet to name the Indian squad. While India is currently engaged in a five-match T20I series against South Africa, the team will also go to the United Kingdom to face England in a Test, followed by a T20I and ODI series. As a result, with the older members of the team competing against the English side, VVS Laxman will most likely be assigned to a team with a slew of new faces. Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian squad in the England series.

The Ireland series scenario will be similar to last year’s setup when Dravid was given leadership of the Indian side for their bilateral series against Sri Lanka while the senior team was in England. The roster for the two T20Is against Ireland in Dublin on June 26 and 28 is yet to be announced, but numerous IPL stars are expected to make their debut on the world stage.

Meanwhile, key members of the Indian squad are expected to go to the United Kingdom this month to begin their rescheduled Pataudi Trophy 2021/22 Test match from last year, which begins on July 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Following the end of the Test, the two teams will play three T20Is at The Rose Bowl in Southampton, Edgbaston in Birmingham, and Trent Bridge in Nottingham, followed by three ODIs at The Oval, Lord’s in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester (Manchester).
