3 Players who will attract BIG money if they are released from their IPL franchises

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the world’s largest and most competitive T20 leagues. The competition features some of the finest players in the world, as well as local uncapped players. Before the start of each season, the franchises look to refresh their squad in the auction. Every franchise retains certain players while releasing others prior to the auction.

The IPL 2022 edition featured competitiveness, quality, and a platform for promising players. However, several athletes have fallen short of expectations. These players were either benched from the starting lineup or fell short of the standards they set for themselves in prior seasons. This may cause their present franchisees to release them in the next auction. However, these cricketers have shown glimpses of quality in the past, which may entice rival franchises to pay high prices for them.

In this article, we are going to talk about 3 players, who, if released from their current IPL franchises, will attract BIG money in net season’s auction.

Number 1. Abdul Samad

Abdul Samad, a right-handed batter from Jammu and Kashmir, is recognized for his long-striking ability. He is only the fourth player from that region to play in the IPL. He has three hundred and four fifties in 13 first-class matches. He also bowls occasional leg-spin and has six first-class wickets to his name.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed him in the 2020 IPL Auction. He scored 111 runs with a strike rate of 170.76 in his first season. With a strike rate of 127.58, he scored the same number of runs in the 2021 season. He played only two matches and scored four runs in the 2022 season.

Samad was also one of the players retained by SRH in the 2022 auction. However, his recent drop in form has kept him out of the starting XI. The upcoming season may be make-or-break for the 21-year-old.

Number 2. Dwaine Pretorius

In the 2022 IPL Auction, the powerful South African fast bowler was signed by the 2021 champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Pretorius is mostly a bowler, but he can also contribute with the bat near the end of an innings.

In 2016, Pretorius made his international debut for South Africa. He was a member of South Africa’s World Cup squad in 2019. He appeared in two tournament games and was named Man of the Match against Sri Lanka.

Pretorius is noted for his ball manipulation and useful cameos with the bat. In his maiden IPL season, he appeared in six matches and took six wickets at an economy rate of 10.00. He had a strike rate of 157.14 and scored 44 runs in five innings. Pretorius’ early-season troubles kept him on the sidelines.

Number 3. Kartik Tyagi

The tall Uttar Pradesh fast bowler was a significant player on India’s U19 World Cup team in 2020. India finished second in the competition, and he took 11 wickets. He drew attention because of his speed and ability to maneuver the new ball.

In the 2020 IPL Auction, he was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals (RR). In his first season, he took nine wickets in ten games at an economy rate of 9.61. After featuring in only six games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021 and 2022, he took five wickets at an economy of 9.36.

Tyagi was named Man of the Match in the 2021 season against Punjab Kings after conceding only one run off the final over while defending four runs. Tyagi also headed to Australia with the India team as a net bowler in 2020.
