Aakash Chopra is of the opinion that RCB should release Mohammed Siraj

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra believes Royal Challengers Bangalore can release bowler Mohammed Siraj before the IPL 2023 season and re-auction him for a much lower price. Siraj was one of three RCB retainers ahead of the IPL 2022 season, and he had one of his worst seasons, taking just nine wickets in 15 games at an economy rate of 10.07.

Despite Siraj’s dismal performance, RCB advanced to the IPL 2022 playoffs. The squad’s other bowlers, Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga, all contributed significantly to the bowling department. Siraj has improved dramatically in international cricket over the previous two years, across all formats. He will, however, strive to ensure that he returns strong in the upcoming assignments in order to maintain his position on the team.

“For seven crores, Mohammed Siraj was retained.” You may let him go. If you release him, who would you replace him with? That’s a significant concern because you’ll need an Indian bowler. You can literally purchase him back for less than seven crores now,” Chopra claimed on his YouTube channel.

“You have an overseas bowler in Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel has done well, and Akash Deep was not too awful at the start.” You wanted to keep him (Siraj), which I thought was a terrific idea, but the season hasn’t gone well,” the 44-year-old added.
