Virat Kohli sends heartfelt message following RCB’s exit from the IPL 2022

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s hopes of winning their first IPL title were dashed after a crushing defeat to Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium on Friday. Former RCB captain Virat Kohli thanked the fans on Instagram for their incredible support throughout the tournament.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had another roller-coaster season, relying on other teams for playoff qualification. RCB fans, known as the ’12th Man Army,’ hoped that the Bangalore-based team would end their tournament drought by lifting the trophy this year. However, a lackluster performance against the Royals extended their IPL drought.

The former Indian captain took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the RCB’s devoted fans, management, and support staff.

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t, but the 12th Man Army has been incredible, always supporting us throughout our campaign.” You make cricket unique. Learning is an ongoing process. Thank you to the management, support staff, and everyone who is a part of this amazing franchise. “See you next season,” read the post’s caption.

Kohli had a terrible season with RCB in IPL 2022. In 16 games, the 33-year-old scored 341 runs, including two half-centuries. The right-struggles hander’s were obvious, with many former players advising him to take a break from the game.

Kohli showed signs of form with a 54-ball 73 and impressed with his stroke-making. However, he was unable to build on that performance and failed to impress in the last two crucial games for RCB.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag understood Kohli’s predicament. However, in the big game against RR, he questioned Kohli’s shot selection. In such a crucial game, Kohli was expected to lead from the front. However, he was dismissed in the second over after playing an avoidable shot.
