IPL 2022 – Mitchell McClenaghan is ecstatic about the IPL 2022 final

Mitchell McClenaghan of New Zealand has expressed his excitement on Twitter ahead of the much-anticipated IPL 2022 final, which will be played between the new entrants Gujarat Titans and the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals. McClenaghan has appeared in 56 IPL matches, taking 71 wickets at an average of 25.39 and an economy rate of 8.49 runs per over.

He played his final match for the Mumbai Indians against the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2019 final, which Mumbai won by one run. McClenaghan recently mentioned Royals senior batter Jos Buttler and Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya in a tweet, emphasizing the significance of this match for both players.

“While I’m not phased by who wins the IPL final, I’m excited that Jos Buttler gets an opportunity to win a title after returning home for his last. And Hardik Pandya gets the chance to lead a side to a championship after 4 title wins,” McClenaghan tweeted ahead of the final of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.

To be sure, both the new IPL 2022 entrants, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants, made it to the playoffs by finishing first and third, respectively. Gujarat secured a spot in the IPL 2022 final by defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in Qualifier 1.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan won the second qualifier against Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets, confirming their clash with Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 final. It will be Sanju Samson’s and Hardik Pandya’s first IPL final as captains. Rajasthan has reached the IPL finals for the first time in 14 years, with Shane Warne’s side claiming the title after defeating Chennai Super Kings by three wickets in 2008.
