IPL 2022 Final – The BEST Gujarat Titans Playing XI to face the Rajasthan Royals

The stage is set for the greatest game of the season, with the Gujarat Titans facing the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 Final on Sunday (May 29th) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The two best teams from the group rounds will compete for the coveted IPL trophy.

Gujarat will face a stiff challenge from Sanju Samson’s Royals, who are attempting to capture their second IPL crown after winning the first event in 2008. Hardik Pandya will be trying to replicate his team’s performance in Qualifier 1 against the same opponents. Pandya is unlikely to make any changes to his lineup before the big game.

Let’s take a look at the BEST Gujarat Titans Playing XI to face the Rajasthan Royals.

Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill open the innings

Wriddhiman Saha’s time away from the field has been marred by controversy after he opted to leave Bengal’s Ranji team. On the field, the Titans’ opener has performed admirably in IPL 2022. During the powerplay, the wicketkeeper-batter has been quite harsh on the bowlers, since he is fearless against pace bowling. He hopes to rebound strongly in this match after being dismissed for a duck against the Royals in Qualifier 1.

Shubhman Gill, Titans’ eye-catching opener, has surpassed 400 runs in the IPL for the third consecutive season. Unlike Saha, Gill has been cautious in the powerplay and has relied on his maneuvering abilities rather than his power striking. The right-hander looked sharp in the last game before being battered for 35 runs.

David Miller, Matthew Wade, and Hardik Pandya strengthen the middle order

Matthew Wade has failed to make an impression in his long-awaited return to the IPL. Before being ejected for 35 against the Royals, the southpaw appeared to have found some form. He is one of the squad’s big-game players and will look to contribute more with the bat.

Hardik Pandya is having his best season with the bat in IPL history. The hard-hitting right-hander has reined in his tendencies to hit the ball indiscriminately and has looked strong in the crease. He also led the squad from the front in the previous game, scoring an undefeated 40 off 27 balls to help his team win.

“Killer” David Miller, the left-handed strong hitter, made an undefeated 68 to propel Gujarat into the final earlier this week. The southpaw hit three straight sixes off Prasidh Krishna’s penultimate over to help his team win. Miller is well-known for his death-hitting prowess. However, he has looked more secure at the crease this year and is playing well for the Gujarat side.

Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan come in as the all-rounders

Rahul Tewatia has led his team to some stunning victories this season. One of the best moments of IPL 2022 was his last-ball six to seal the game for Gujarat over Punjab Kings. The southpaw did not bat in the previous game but will be ready to contribute when the opportunity arises because anything is possible as long as Tewatia is at the crease.

Rashid Khan has been Sunrisers Hyderabad’s greatest player in recent years, and he has continued his excellent form in the IPL with Titans. This season, the Afghan spinner has taken 18 wickets at an outstanding economy of 6.73. Rashid was outstanding in the previous game against Rajasthan, allowing only 15 runs in four overs as batsmen struggled to select his googlies.

Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, and Mohammed Shami form the bowling attack

Sai Kishore has only appeared in four games this season, but Pandya has relied on him to bowl critical overs for his team whenever a difficult situation arises. Despite taking the key wicket of Samson in the previous game, he was costly with the ball, allowing 43 runs in four overs.

Alzarri Joseph is likely the weakest piece in an otherwise strong Titans bowling unit. He has been leaking runs at an alarming pace and has let his teammates down with some subpar performances on the field. The West Indian bowled quickly but with little control. Pandya is hoping for a better showing from the kid in the final.

Yash Dayal, a left-arm bowler, was impressive with his tight bowling lines in his first few outings. He has ten wickets in eight games this season. He leaked runs against the Royals in the previous game, conceding 46 runs in four overs. The Titans will be hoping for a stronger performance from him in the all-important IPL 2022 Final.
