IPL 2022 – Players from this season who can become international superstars

We have witnessed a large number of players climb through the ranks of the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its start. While some of these players were one-hit wonders, others possessed the ability to compete on the world stage. Many of these survivor players went on to proudly wear the Blue India shirt. Many players have talent, but talent is one thing; applying your ability effectively is another.

Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kieron Pollard have all expressed gratitude to the IPL for their international achievements. When the IPL launched two additional teams in Tata IPL 2022, the ocean of possibilities grew even larger. This meant only one thing: increased possibilities for younger players who had previously been overlooked due to the presence of more experienced players.

There were five such players in the Tata IPL 2022 who drew the attention of every cricket fan with their skill-set on show against international players. These players will almost certainly become stars for their respective national teams in the near future.

Number 1. Dewald Brevis

After an excellent under-19 Cricket World Cup, Baby AB has swiftly risen to prominence. Yes, we’re talking about Dewald Brevis, often known as DB, the South African superstar. DB has dominated the IPL 2022. His stance, bat flow, and poise are all very similar to that of the famous AB De Villiers, but DB has added his own flair to it.

Brevis did not play the entire IPL 2022 season because of several permutations and combinations being tested by the Mumbai administration. Dewald scored 161 runs with a strike rate of 142.47 in seven innings for Mumbai, which had everyone scratching their heads. Dewald’s pure six-hitting ability is unrivaled among 19-year-olds operating at the same level.

The Under-19 World Cup’s second-highest run-scorer was unquestionably in line for his international debut. However, the South African was not selected for the series against India, which would have been a disappointment for Brevis. Dewald’s caliber and skill set, on the other hand, cannot be contained for long. It will only be a matter of time before Dewald erupts on the international stage, as he did in the Under-19 World Cup.

Number 2. Tilak Varma

In the Tata IPL 2022, the 19-year-old hitter has been a revelation. After being auctioned off for 1.7 crores, all eyes were on this big left-hander to deliver for the IPL’s most successful team, the Mumbai Indians. In this revised Mumbai Indians team, Tilak was assigned the vital position of number four.

And what a boy! He simply carried out the doctor’s orders. Tilak scored 397 runs in 14 innings for Mumbai, scoring at a blazing strike rate of 131.02. The poise with which Tilak batted pleased everyone, and Ashwin’s reverse sweep six is still fresh in the minds of famous cricket fans. Indeed, Varma’s continuous performances enabled him to become Mumbai’s second-highest run-scorer in IPL 2022.

Tilak’s father, an electrician, used to light up other people’s houses for a job, and when he recognized the cricketing spark in his son, the diligent father and Varma’s coach made certain that his son had a great career. Tilak, who comes from a low-income family, had always wanted to play in the IPL. Tilak couldn’t even afford to acquire cricketing equipment in his early days due to financial difficulties, but as they say, if you are stronger than your circumstances, you will make it big sooner or later. Tilak’s national call-up isn’t far away if he maintains his IPL confidence and performs well in the local scene.

Number 3. Umran Malik

Umran Malik has unquestionably been the discovery of IPL 2022. In all of his outings for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, the speedster bowled at or above 145Kmph. Umran was so quick this season that he bowled the second fastest ball in IPL history, a 157kmph missile that smashed the speed-o-meter and flooded the internet with acclaim for the teenager. After an excellent IPL season, Umran received his first call-up to the Indian squad for the T20 series against South Africa.

Umran had pace last season as well, but he lacked a precise line and length to back up his quick throws. This season’s scenario was different since he was in the capable hands of “Steyn Gun,” Mr. Dale Steyn. During his prime, he wreaked havoc on batters with his deadly speed and accurate out swings. Dale imparted his knowledge to the youngster, and Malik became a very different bowler.

Umran grabbed 22 wickets in this IPL at a dangerous strike rate of 13.40, the most of any SRH spinner. Umran not only took the most wickets for the Sunrisers, but he also finished in the top five wicket-takers across all teams. The yorkers that came after a terrible bouncer were the most impressive thing about Umran, and clearly, his mentor, Steyn, was all smiles from the dugout watching the youngster execute his skills. If Malik maintains his current form, he will be the next big thing in the Indian system.
