IPL 2022 Eliminator – The BEST Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI to face the Lucknow Super Giants

Following Delhi’s tragic defeat at the hands of the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore was awarded a spot in the IPL 2022 playoffs. The Bangalore team will face the Lucknow Supergiants in the Eliminator on Tuesday (May 25th) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. For the third consecutive season, RCB has qualified for the playoffs. However, they have failed to advance beyond this stage on the previous two occasions.

Fans of the Royals will be hoping that they can finally breakthrough this year. If they prevail against LSG, they will face the loser of Qualifier 1 (GT or RR) in Qualifier 2. Faf Du Plessis, who went all the way with CSK last season, will try to bring his winning mindset to the fore. Bangalore will not make any changes to the side that defeated GT in their previous group-round encounter.

Let’s take a look at the BEST Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI to face the Lucknow Super Giants.

Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli open the innings

Virat Kohli arrived at the IPL 2022 in the worst form he has been in a long time, and he looked the most fluid in his 73-ball hit against table-toppers GT. Kohli also became the first player in T20 history to score 7000 runs for a single side. He has now scored 300 runs for the 13th time in a row, demonstrating the former captain’s consistency. Kohli’s shoulders will bear the weight of RCB’s quest for their first IPL title.

When Virat Kohli stepped down as captain at the conclusion of last year, there were a lot of questions. The entrance of Du Plessis, on the other hand, has had a calming effect on the RCB camp. The former Proteas skipper has been astute in his decision-making and is not afraid to take risks. Du Plessis has not let captaincy impair his batting form, amassing 443 runs in the IPL 2022 so far. Faf, who was named match of the match in last year’s final, will look to carry his big-game mentality to subsequent contests.

Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik, and Rajat Patidar solidify the middle order

RCB’s star-studded batting lineup has relied on two rookie batters in the middle order, and they have taken advantage of the opportunity. Rajat Patidar and Mahipal Lomror have allowed the batters around them to play their natural game this year, as they have delivered clutch knocks to get their team out of trouble on several occasions.

There’s modifying your game and then there’s completely changing your game. Dinesh Karthik has accomplished the latter. The former KKR captain was facing down the barrel, and rumors of his departure from the game circulated. RCB took a risk by signing him in the IPL 2022 auctions, and the Tamil Nadu native has raised his game to an unprecedented level. In IPL 2022, he has a remarkable strike rate of over 190 as he has taken on the role of the ‘finisher.’

Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, and Siddarth Kaul form the bowling attack

Yuzvendra Chahal’s departure from RCB puzzled fans because the great spinner was one of the team’s key players. However, Chahal was replaced by another star in the form of Wanindu Hasaranga by the administration. He has lived up to his reputation as the best wicket-taker in T20Is in 2021, finishing second in the race for the purple cap with 24 wickets. With five half-centuries for Sri Lanka, the leggie may make use of the long handle.

RCB is concerned about the fitness of their fast bowler, Harshal Patel. While fielding against the Gujarat Titans, the right-arm fast suffered a split webbing in his bowling hand. Patel, on the other hand, has stated that he will be ready for the eliminator versus LSG. Although he has not reproduced his form from the previous season, he is still very vital to RCB, having taken 18 wickets in 13 IPL 2022 games.

RCB’s powerplay bowling has been primarily reliant on Josh Hazelwood, who has been particularly effective with the new ball. The Australian has 15 wickets to his name and has challenged hitters with his trademark red ball line and length. With the surfaces at Eden Gardens being more favorable to fast bowlers, the Australian will play a significant role in the Eliminator.

Mohammed Siraj, who had a terrible season in IPL 2022, was replaced in the final game by Sidharth Kaul. However, Kaul was unproductive with the ball, allowing 43 runs in four overs. RCB will be hoping that the former Sunrisers player has a better game against LSG.
