IPL 2022 – 3 Players who turned out to be absolute Surprise Packages

The Indian Premier League is a platform where skill meets opportunity, and this year has been no exception, with fans witnessing some unexpected performances from players who were not expected at the start of the season. These players have made a significant contribution to their team’s performance by adding strength to the relevant departments, namely batting, bowling, and fielding.

This type of performance is critical for them in order for their individual franchises to keep them for next year’s competition, and it may even lead to their being selected for their national team.

In this article, we are going to talk about 3 players who turned out to be absolute surprise packages this season.

Number 1. Jitesh Sharma

Jitesh Sharma has been one of the most promising players to emerge from this year’s IPL, with his finishing ability helping Punjab to many victories. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter from Maharashtra was selected by the club in this year’s auction but had to wait a couple of games before making his debut against CSK.

Since then, Jitesh has been a regular in the Punjab Kings’ playing XI, with Shahrukh Khan making a place for him due to his poor batting performance. Despite the fact that PKBS has been eliminated from the 2022 IPL, Jitesh has been one of the team’s bright spots for the coming season.

Jitesh has scored 234 runs at an average of 29.25 with a strike rate of 163.63 in 12 matches. He took advantage of every opportunity presented to him to demonstrate the level of talent he possesses. He has the ability to quickly become one of India’s top finishers.

Number 2. Mohsin Khan

Another Uttar Pradesh player appeared in LSG’s opening game against the Gujarat Titans but sat out the majority of the games due to the Lucknow franchise’s abundance of talented fast bowlers. After Avesh Khan incurred an injury, he was given a chance and has been in excellent form ever since.

His first game saw him bowl two overs for eighteen runs without taking a wicket, but he returned to the side for Lucknow’s reverse fixture game against the Mumbai Indians and bowled cheaply. In his next game, against the Punjab Kings, he bowled well, with statistics of 4-1-24-3.

He once again demonstrated his worth by taking four wickets for 16 runs against the Delhi Capitals, assisting Lucknow to victory and earning him his first-ever “Man of the Match” award. Mohsin took 13 wickets in eight matches, at an economy of just under six (5.93). Mohsin’s bowling ability is one of the reasons LSG has qualified for the playoffs, and if he maintains his form, his team has a decent chance of overcoming Bangalore in the Eliminator.

Number 3. Mukesh Choudhary

When Mukesh Chowdhary initially appeared on the scene, everyone complained about his lack of variation and demanded that he be replaced by another bowler. The Super Kings, on the other hand, had other plans, offering Mukesh an opportunity game after game.

The Chennai management’s faith in him paid off, as Mukesh began to perform well, with his breakthrough coming against their archrivals, the Mumbai Indians, in their first meeting of the season. Mukesh would start the powerplay impressively, taking three early wickets. He went on to end his tenure with figures of 3-19 in four overs. This was crucial in CSK’s victory over Mumbai that night, as well as the start of a successful run for the man from Rajasthan.

Even though Chennai Super Kings didn’t have a spectacular season, the inclusion of the young pacer to their squad has given them a reliable left-arm fast bowler who may start the bowling attack alongside Deepak Chahar in next year’s IPL. Mukesh Choudhary concluded his rookie season with 16 wickets, a highly respectable and surprise achievement given his lack of momentum at the start.
