The government would cover Umran Malik’s training and other expenses
Umran Malik, a young bowling wonder from Jammu and Kashmir, has astonished everyone with his incredible performances in IPL 2022, scalping 22 wickets in 14 games while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has been called up to the Indian national side for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa due to his heroics with the ball and ability to bowl regularly at speeds of 150+ kph.
Meanwhile, Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, visited Umran at his home in Jammu and congratulated him on his outstanding performance in the 15th edition of the IPL. LG Sinha also stated that the government will provide Umran with training and other amenities.
Umran Malik made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 after being acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad. He could only play three matches for SRH last season, taking only two wickets. Later, prior to the IPL 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained the youthful bowler for INR 4 crore alongside skippers Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad.
This season, he has astounded and impressed everyone with his scorching pace and consistent precision bowling. Meanwhile, fans and former cricketers have credited Umran’s success to former all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who has been instrumental in honing the youngster’s talent.
