RCB update their Twitter profile photo before of the DC vs. MI game
All eyes will be on the Mumbai Indians versus Delhi Capitals match on Saturday (May 21) at the Wankhede Stadium, where the top four clubs in the playoffs will be determined. While DC’s fate is in their own hands because a win would guarantee them a spot in the top four, RCB’s fate is in the hands of the five-time champions because a win would guarantee RCB’s qualifying.
Ahead of the highly anticipated game, the Bangalore-based franchise has changed the color of their Twitter profile picture to Blue in support of the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians. The team’s official color is red, but because Mumbai’s victory in their last league stage fixture is so important right now, they’ve set their logo on a blue background.
They also placed “#RedTurnsBlue” below the team’s emblem to convey their support for the Mumbai Indians and ambition to make the playoffs. Aside from updating their Twitter profile photo, RCB created a special postcard for Mumbai and uploaded it on the network, which read:
With one game remaining, RCB has 16 points from 14 games played, while DC has 14 points from 13 games played. Though DC’s victory would bring them to the same stage as RCB, they will claim fourth place in the points table due to a higher NRR. Mumbai Indians sit at the bottom of the points table and would undoubtedly want to end their disappointing season on a high note. DC players would be at their best because this is their last chance to finish the season on a high note.
Following the qualification of the Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants, the Rajasthan Royals clinched their place in the top two by defeating the Chennai Super Kings on May 20. In the first qualifier, they will now meet the Titans, who are currently in the first place. The victor of the GT vs RR match would go to the final, while the losing side would have another chance to redeem themselves in the second eliminator.
