This IPL season has been a true playground for many rising players. Almost every franchise in the league has discovered promising young cricketers. In reality, the young pool of players for the recognized teams- MI and CSK- has been the largest benefit in IPL 2022.

Even for the top three rated teams (GT, RR, and LSG), their youthful guns have often saved them or assisted them in crossing the finish line. Overall, as the majority of the retained players failed in IPL 2022, the reliance on these neophytes has grown.

In this article, we will talk about 5 players who are long-term acquisitions for their respective franchises.

MI has a lot of youthful players in their lineup after the IPL 2022 big auction. Dewald Brevis and Tilak Varma, among others, were expected to make their IPL debuts. Tilak Varma, in particular, has realized his full potential during MI’s harrowing current season.

The 19-year-old has scored the most runs for MI thus far. The southpaw has 376 runs at an average of nearly 38 in 13 games. Tilak has scored the most runs against spin in IPL 2022 (189) and has only been removed once.

Perhaps, in a true sense, the youngster has been the sole bright spot among all MI batters. Tilak, who frequently bats in the middle order, has only shown little restraint during Mumbai’s batting stint. More importantly, the cricketer’s arsenal includes both traditional and inventive shots.

Overall, Tilak Varma appears to be a megastar in the making for Mumbai. He could be the next big thing for the blue and gold army after the Pandya brothers.

Number 2. Avesh Khan – Lucknow Super Giants

Avesh Khan appears to be one of the best five pacers in the IPL right now. Since last year, the kid has been a revelation in the tournament. Avesh is also recognized for scalping huge opponent fishes in his bowling. The lanky speedster enjoys running on all cylinders, particularly during the race for the purple cap.

So far in his last two seasons, the 25-year-old has taken 41 wickets in 27 games. Avesh has 17 wickets for Lucknow at an economy rate of less than 8. As a complete bowler, this speedster can bowl exceptionally well in all phases of the game.

Avesh may also be carrying all the techniques and variations in his bowling gear. That’s why, when combined with his speed, the spearhead enjoys chasing down wickets. Even during the current season, his high salary (10 Cr) has been well worth it due to his brave bowling. Hopefully, his astute performances would secure him a permanent IPL place with the Lucknow franchise.

.

Number 3. Arshdeep Singh – Punjab Kings

Arshdeep has been one of Punjab’s top pacers for quite some time. Prior to the arrival of Kagiso Rabada, the southpaw was PBKS’s bowling leader. Also, since last year, the teenager has significantly increased his wicket total. His 18 wickets in the IPL 2021 were one of the key reasons he was retained.

More importantly, Arsheep is already one of the finest pacers in the game, especially in the current season. The 23-year-old has bowled the most yorkers, particularly in the final overs. Though his wicket tally needs to be increased, his economy has been strong (7.83). That is why, under coach Anil Kumble, the spearhead is prepared for a lengthy stay with the organization.

Furthermore, Arshdeep’s offering as a left-handed pacer is extremely scarce in the IPL. No franchise, like PBKS, would pass over Arshdeep, especially with what the speedster offers. Hopefully, his time in Punjab will soon see him become the team’s leading wicket-taker.

.

Number 4. Wanindu Hasaranga – Royal Challengers Bangalore

Wanindu Hasaranga has been piling up wickets over the last year or so. Whether it’s IPL or international cricket, the teenager has been consistently perplexing hitters. So far for RCB, Hasaranga has barely filled the vacuum left by Yuzvendra Chahal. He’s also very much in the running for the purple cap right now.

Hasaranga has taken 23 wickets in 13 games this season. Even in terms of economics, the 24-year-old has admitted to running at a rate of less than 8. However, despite his reputation as a bowling all-rounder, the SL cricketer has yet to make an impact with the bat. However, in the IPL 2022, the leg-spinner has more than justified his price tag.

As a result, the RCB thought tank will certainly continue to develop him into a superb T20 all-rounder. Hasaranga is seen to be a long-term prospect for the team.

.

Umran Malik made his IPL debut last year, towards the tail end of IPL 2021. Everyone in the competition was taken aback by the speedster’s breakneck speed. His revelation prompted a demand for his retention for the IPL 2022 season. And maybe the most talked-about player in the ongoing IPL is the youngster.

According to statistics, the 22-year-old has taken 21 wickets in 13 IPL 2022 games. In addition to his overall wicket total, the batsman has a four-wicket haul and a fifer. Apart from that, Umran is the current IPL season’s official quickest pacer. Furthermore, bowling without a new ball and throughout difficult passages of play is significantly improving Umran’s bowling abilities.

Overall, this young man will undoubtedly become the major spearhead of Hyderabad under the tutelage of Dale Steyn. Surely, the orange army will transform Umran in the same way that Bhuvi has been transformed in the past.
