IPL 2022 – The BEST Rajasthan Royals Playing XI to face the Chennai Super Kings
The 68th match of IPL 2022 will be played on Friday, May 20th, at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. Sanju Samson’s team is currently in third place in the table and needs a win to overtake Lucknow Super Giants into second place, as they have a higher run rate than LSG. Although they are practically certain to make the playoffs, finishing in second place will offer them two chances in the postseason.
The Royals are coming off a 24-run victory over the excellent LSG. Sanju Samson will stick to the winning combinations as much as possible. However, due to Shimron Hetmyer’s availability, the West Indian will return to the team to replace Jimmy Neesham.
Let’s take a look at the BEST Rajasthan Royals Playing XI to face the Chennai Super Kings.
Jos Buttler and Yashaswi Jaiswal open the innings
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in excellent form recently, providing strong starts for his team. When you have someone like Jos Buttler on the other end hammering balls out of the ground, it’s easy to get carried away. But the 20-year-old has kept his cool and relied on his placement and timing of the ball, as he did in his last match against LSG, when he scored a quick 29-ball 41.
In IPL 2022, Jos Buttler has been in incredible form. With 627 runs this season, the Englishman is the highest run-scorer. The opener has three centuries to his credit and will be aiming to match Virat Kohli’s four-century IPL season record. Butler has had a quiet couple of games, but CSK cannot afford to overlook him.
Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, and Devdutt Padikkal strengthen the middle order
Buttler has been in phenomenal form for the RR this season, and his batting has single-handedly devastated opponents. He has also received excellent support from the middle order. Paddikal and Samson have combined for three half-centuries this season, but they have not been able to score large runs.
However, they have made multiple vital cameo appearances for their team this season. Hetmyer has put the finishing touches on the Royals’ innings, which has seen them score 291 runs while striking well over 150 times.
Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin come in as the all-rounders
In IPL 2022, Riyan Parag hasn’t had the best of seasons. However, the right-hander has made an impact on the field with his all-around ability. Parag had 13 catches this year, the most by an outfielder in the tournament.
On the other hand, Ashwin has been promoted up the order on several occasions, and he recently scored his first IPL half-century while batting at No. 3 against Delhi Capitals. With the bat, the former CSK talisman has 143 runs to go along with ten wickets.
Trent Boult, Obed Mccoy, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Prasidh Krishna form the bowling attack
This season, Rajasthan’s bowling lineup has wowed almost as much as their batting lineup. Trent Boult was brilliant in the powerplay versus LSG, finishing with stats of 2/18 in four overs. Prasidh Krishna has 15 wickets in IPL 2022, splitting the opening bowling duties with Trent Boult.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s brilliant bowling skills have lit up the IPL. With 24 wickets, the leggie is the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2022. In the past game, Obed Mccoy, who was named in place of Kuldeep Sen, was impressed with his pace-off deliveries in the slog overs.
