Kane Williamson is scheduled to return home for the birth of his child
Kane Williamson, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, is preparing to leave the team’s camp in order to fly back home to be with his wife during the birth of their child. The official update was issued by SRH on their official Twitter account. It should be mentioned that this will be Williamson’s second child with his wife Sarah Raheem, following the birth of their daughter in December 2020.
“Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, to usher in the latest addition to his family. 🧡 Here’s everyone at the #Riser camp wishing Kane Williamson and his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness! #OrangeArmy #ReadyToRise,” SRH posted on their official Twitter handle.
Many cricketers have already left the IPL bio-bubble to meet personal obligations. However, when the playoff competition heats up, teams will do everything they can to fill their holes.
Williamson’s season did not go well, as he failed to show off his classic colors, scoring 216 runs in 13 games at a poor average of 19.64 and scoring just one-fifty. Even his strike rate of 93.51 didn’t help the Orange Army.
In regards to how the IPL 2022 has played out for SRH, the team is now in eighth place with only 12 points in 13 games. They won their last league game against MI by three runs to stay in the T20 league. They came back to form in the midst of the season with five straight victories, only to plummet again with their poor performance. However, they must win their last league game by a large margin in order to qualify for the playoffs, where the outcomes of other games will also be important.
