CSK CEO confirms that Ambati Rayudu will not be retiring from the IPL after this season

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has affirmed that Ambati Rayudu will not retire at the end of the current season and will continue to be connected with the franchise in the future. Rayudu turned to Twitter on Saturday (May 14) and dropped a massive bombshell, announcing that IPL 2022 will be his final season.

The most alarming aspect was that Rayudu removed the tweet minutes after it was posted. His social media actions sparked outrage on social media, leaving fans bewildered. However, the club’s CEO was quick to emphasize that the 36-year-old will not retire and will continue to be involved with the business in the future.

“I am happy to announce that this will be my last IPL. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and Csk for the wonderful journey,” he had written in the deleted post.

Rayudu joined CSK in 2018 and has been an integral component of the franchise ever since. The dasher is a captain’s dream since he can bat wherever in the order to offer stability and balance to the squad. Rayudu has accepted all challenges that have come his way, whether it was playing the anchor role or scoring rapid runs near the end. Rayudu was previously involved with the five-time champion Mumbai Indians from 2010 to 2017.
