Rumors of a schism spread after CSK unfollowed Ravindra Jadeja on Instagram
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was recently unfollowed from the franchise’s Instagram account. It should be noted that the left-handed batsman has been ruled out of the remaining Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 matches due to a suspected rib injury.
Concerning Jadeja’s condition, the 33-year-old was hurt during a group stage match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 4. Despite playing the rest of the game against the Red Army, Jadeja was ruled out of CSK’s last encounter against the Delhi Capitals. However, it had little effect on the Yellow Army, who easily defeated the Capitals.
To be sure, the left-handed hitter was named Yellow Army captain prior to the start of the IPL 2022. However, the defending champs struggled under his leadership. As a result, Jadeja resigned as captain, and the position was handed back to veteran MS Dhoni.
It should be highlighted that the left-handed batter performed poorly in the competition. He only scored 116 runs and took five wickets in ten matches. In the IPL, the 33-year-old has played 210 matches and scored a total of 2502 runs at a respectable average of 26.62. He has a strike rate of 127.65 and has two half-centuries to his name. He has taken 132 wickets with the ball at an economy rate of 7.61.
Meanwhile, in their next group round match, the reigning champions will face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI). The highly-anticipated match will take place on May 12 at Mumbai’s magnificent Wankhede Stadium (Thursday). The Yellow Army is presently tenth in the points standings.
