The IPL 2022 standings are shaping up nicely and taking the contest forward, we have the two newcomers – the Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans taking on each other in the 57th match of the tournament. Both the teams have done well so far and currently occupy the top 2 spots on the table and are almost guaranteed a position in the playoffs. This match will be more of a decider as to who sticks on to the top spot and both the teams will now be fielding players keeping the playoffs in mind. There are some players who are yet to hit their stride in both the teams and the remainder of the group stages matches will serve as a great platform for them to dig deep and find their rhythm.

The match promises to be an entertaining one and is scheduled to take place on the 10th of May, 2022 at the MCA Stadium, Pune.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans Match 57 – Pitch Report

The MCA Stadium has been known to favor the batters, but there is something in there for the spin bowlers as well, if they can dig deep and stick to the basics. It will be interesting to see what the toss-winning captain chooses to do, but in our opinion, the team that wins the toss should elect to bat first.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans Match 57 – Players to watch

KL Rahul

The captain of the Lucknow Super Giants has grown from strength to strength as the tournament has progressed and has been in the runs and a maverick presence on the field. He is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 451 runs from the 11 games that he has played. He has been one of the top run-scorers since the last few seasons of the IPL and this season has been no different. A huge knock will get him within breathing distance of Jos Buttler in the race for the Orange Cap and with the pressure of the playoff qualification, not really on his team right now, he can express himself and try to get as many runs on the board as possible.

Quinton de Kock

He has been a great opening partner for KL Rahul, and there have been occasions where Rahul has been dismissed and de Kock has stabilized the innings. The Mumbai Indians must be regretting letting go of such a dependable batsman up the order, but their loss seems to be Lucknow’s gain. The past few games have been a bit quiet for the South African, but we expect him to come good in the last few group stage matches. So far in the tournament, he has scored 344 runs from 11 matches and is currently the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

Hardik Pandya

This season has been all about Hardik redeeming himself after being sidelined due to injury for a better part of a year. He was not retained by the Mumbai Indians and promptly snapped up by the Gujarat Titans, who even offered him the captaincy of the side, a role that he has embodied and maximized in every game. His on-field performances have been consistent and he is a firm favorite to be selected for the Indian World T20 squad. Yes, he has picked up small injuries here and there, but his game has improved and we expect him to make things very difficult for the Lucknow Super Giants.

Rashid Khan

He is one of the biggest names in T20 cricket and a proven wicket-taker. Off late, he has even displayed his skills with the bat, but predominantly, he is trusted by the captain to provide those breakthroughs, especially when the opposition has a partnership building. He has not made that great of an impact this season, but he is a big-game player and a proven asset. Expect him to step up in the upcoming games.
