Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out for the season due to a forearm muscle problem

Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2022 due to a left forearm muscle injury, according to a press release issued by the league on May 9. Yadav sustained the injury during his team’s match against the Gujarat Titans on May 6.

The aforementioned development just pushes the Mumbai Indians farther down in what has been a historically dismal season. Yadav, who played eight matches this year and scored 303 runs at an average of 43.29 with three half-centuries, was one of the franchise’s lone bright spots in a year that began with eight straight losses.

“Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on his left forearm and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,” the franchise said in a statement.
