IPL 2022 – The BEST Rajasthan Royals Playing XI to face the Punjab Kings

After losing their previous two matches against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals will now take on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next group stage encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the famous Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 7 (Saturday) (Saturday). To be sure, PBKS won their previous game against the Gujarat Titans (GT).

RR is presently third in the points table with six wins in 10 matches, and they have defeated some formidable opponents including Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), among others They have, however, suffered setbacks at the hands of MI, KKR, GT, and RCB.

As indicated above, RR has now lost two back-to-back matches and will be hungry to make a great turnaround in their next meeting. However, it will not be easy against the intimidating PBKS. In terms of team makeup, RR may opt to include South African batter Rassie van der Dussen in their starting lineup.

So far, England batter Jos Buttler has been in excellent form. However, in the most recent encounter against KKR, the right-handed batter scored only 22 runs from 25 balls before being bowled out by Kiwi pacer Tim Southee. Buttler would like to continue his outstanding batting performance against the PBKS bowling attack.

Devdutt Padikkal, a left-handed batsman, has struggled in the IPL 2022. In the previous match, he also struggled to get going against the two-time champions KKR. If he does not perform well in the following game, the RR management may decide to replace him with another player warming the benches.

Sanju Samson, the skipper, scored 54 runs against the Men in Purple in the previous encounter. He couldn’t, however, get going to turn it into a big one. The 27-year-old will strive to replicate his performance in the forthcoming match, as well as win a game for his squad.

After scoring only 13 runs against KKR, Indian hitter Karun Nair may be replaced in the playing XI by South African batter Rassie van der Dussen. Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer is continuing to play crucial knocks for the former champs and would like to keep up his good form with the bat.

Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin form the all-rounder duo

Riyan Parag scored his maiden IPL half-century this season as he smashed an unbeaten 56 against the RCB. He followed his fine form with a short but lovely 19-run effort against the KKR. The right-handed hitter stroked one four and two maximums against the Men in Purple.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the Royals’ most successful acquisitions, and he has even batted at the top of His techniques with the bat, as well as the ball has been brilliant so far and the senior player will seek to maintain his performance against PBKS.

Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Sen round off the bowling attack

Trent Boult, a Kiwi pacer, has made some early inroads for his team in the IPL 2022. During the death overs, though, he has been ineffective. Similarly, bowler Prasidh Krishna has been brilliant with the new ball but has not been very effective in the death overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the tournament’s highest wicket-taker, with 19 wickets in ten matches thus far. Pacer Kuldeep Sen, on the other hand, took one wicket against the two-time champions. He did, however, give up 28 runs in 3.1 overs and would like to improve in the next encounter.
