Against KKR, LSG players will wear jerseys bearing their mothers’ names

The newcomers Lucknow Super Giants have been one of the most consistent teams in this competition, playing some amazing cricket thus far. In fact, they’ve been on a roll since losing to the Royal Challengers Bangalore a fortnight ago and haven’t looked back since.

As Lucknow looks to improve their playoff chances, the team made a noble gesture during their weekend match on Mother’s Day. They have formally announced their proposal only moments before their upcoming IPL 2022 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. In their next game, all of the players will wear jerseys with their mothers’ names. The LSG players have been wearing light blue jerseys this season, but for Mother’s Day, the color has been altered to grey, with the names and numbers of the players’ mothers emblazoned in orange.

On May 7, the KL Rahul-led side will face the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. KKR will enter this match on the back of a well-deserved seven-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals. However, they had lost five consecutive games prior to their last triumph and cannot afford to slip up from here on out if they are to keep their playoff hopes alive as the season comes to a close.
