IPL 2022 – The BEST Kolkata Knight Riders Playing XI to face the Lucknow Super Giants

In Match 53 of the IPL 2022, the Kolkata Knight Riders will face an in-form Lucknow Super Giants at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. While Lucknow has been one of the most consistent sides and is presently second in the points chart, Kolkata will be buoyed after a seven-wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals.

While KKR returned to winning ways with a superb victory over RR, they cannot afford to be complacent, given this triumph came after five straight losses. As a result, with time running out for the two-time winners, they can no longer afford to drop any more, which could jeopardize their qualification chances at the end of the league rounds.

Here is the BEST Kolkata Knight Riders Playing XI to face the Lucknow Super Giants.

Aaron Finch and Sunil Narine open the innings

With the exception of a half-century, Australian limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has struggled to create an impression on the field. He was sent back with only four runs to his name in the previous game against the Rajasthan Royals. As a result, Finch will be hoping to make the most of his opportunity and live up to the team’s expectations.

Sunil Narine is doing his best to confuse batters with the ball in hand, but when it comes to batting, the southpaw hasn’t connected yet, and the move of promoting him as a pinch-hitter hasn’t worked either. He did not open the innings in the previous game, but the management may want to give him another chance.

Baba Indrajith, Rinku Singh, Shreyas Iyer, and Nitish Rana add depth to the middle order

Shreyas Iyer, the tournament’s skipper, has been hot and cold this tournament, but he has been among the runs thus far this season. He has 324 runs from 10 matches, including two half-centuries, with an average of 85. He scored a crucial 34 points in the previous game and will like to improve on that performance. Baba Indrajith only managed 15 runs against RR and would be eager to score big against the Lucknow Super Giants bowling attack.

Nitish Rana has been the most consistent performer with the bat for KKR in the last two games, including an undefeated 37-ball 48 in the last game. Rinku Singh was named Man of the Match against Rajasthan after scoring 42 runs in 23 deliveries. He and Rana put on an unbroken 66-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Anukul Roy and Andre Russell provide all-rounder support

Anukul Roy has yet to make an impression with the bat, but he did make his presence felt with the ball in hand against the Royals, dismissing Karun Nair and finishing his quota with figures of 1/28. He hopes to make more contributions in the future.

Andre Russell is a seasoned match-winner and the backbone of the Kolkata Bengals. He has the ability to change the course of a game with a whirlwind knock in the middle and death overs, as well as deceive the best batters with his well-disguised yorkers. The former champions will be hoping that he can reclaim his form in all of their forthcoming contests.

Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, and Shivam Mavi form the bowling attack

So far, Umesh Yadav has been KKR’s most consistent bowler. Despite going wicketless on a couple of occasions, the senior bowler has 15 wickets and is a strong contender for the Purple Cap list. The Vidharbha fast bowler will try to continue his excellent form against Lucknow.

Tim Southee has also been particularly good with the ball in hand with 10 wickets from five matches thus far. The seasoned New Zealand batsman will be expected to operate in combination with Umesh Yadav to shock LSG’s illustrious batting line-up. Emerging pacer Shivam Mavi, on the other hand, would be seeking to improve on his four scalps from five outings this season.
