MI signs Tristan Stubbs as a replacement after Tymal Mills is ruled out due to injury

Mumbai Indians (MI) have underperformed in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season and have already been eliminated from the competition. Apart from the win in their ninth game of the season, nothing has gone well for them this season. Meanwhile, due to an ankle injury, their fast bowler Tymal Mills has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Tristan Stubbs, a South African middle-order hitter, has been signed as his successor by the five-time champions.

Mills appeared in five matches for MI this season, taking six wickets but also being on the expensive side in terms of economy. Meanwhile, Stubbs, his replacement, has played in 17 T20 matches and scored 506 runs with a strike rate of 157.14. He has been signed with a base salary of INR 20 lakh and will shortly join the MI team.

The Mumbai Indians will play the Gujarat Titans in their next game at the Brabourne Stadium. It is unclear when Stubbs will be available for them to play in the IPL 2022.
