IPL 2022 – The BEST Punjab Kings Playing XI to face the Gujarat Titans

The Punjab Kings will face the Gujarat Titans in the 48th game of the IPL 2022 on May 3rd at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. PBKS is having a difficult time in the tournament because they have not had many victories. They are in the bottom half of the standings with five losses in nine games.

Shubman Gill blasted a brilliant 59-ball 96 in GT and PBKS’ first IPL 2022 match to end the chase for his team. PBKS was unable to defend the score as Rahul Tewatia’s heroics in the final over changed the game in GT’s favor. PBKS will try to level the playing field this time, pushing harder to end GT’s dream winning streak in the tournament and continue their own run in the playoffs race.

Let’s take a look at the BEST Punjab Kings playing XI to face the Gujarat Titans.

Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan continue to open the innings

While the captain has not been able to provide much for his team, Dhawan has been inconsistent throughout the competition. Agarwal must take the initiative and lead the squad from the front, while Dhawan must be consistent in games to give the team a strong start.

Both were dismissed early in their previous match against the Lucknow Super Giants. The squad will need a great opening partnership from the duo, and they will have to take the initiative in doing so.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jonny Bairstow, and Jitesh Sharma solidify the middle order

The PBKS middle-order features three wicketkeeper batters, all of whom have the ability to go long in the game. In the event that the top-order hitters fail to produce, the three would be called upon to take over the game.

Bairstow had been struggling to score runs with the bat, but he hit a 28-ball 32-run knock against LSG the previous game, indicating that he has found his groove again. He’s a seasoned performer, and PBKS would love to see him put on a show.

Rajapaksa was reintroduced into the lineup for the game against CSK, where he produced a calm 42(32) and had a 110-run second-wicket stand with Dhawan. While he is anticipated to maintain his momentum, Jitesh Sharma will have to anchor the innings and provide the squad with a huge finish.

Liam Livingstone and Rishi Dhawan form the all-rounder duo

Livingstone hasn’t done much with the ball, but he has certainly made his bat talk. He has been successful in adding key runs in the middle and leading his team to either a defendable total or a short chase. He either scores big or makes a brief appearance before exiting.

Rishi Dhawan has proven to be a capable all-rounder for the club. He provided his team with some vital breakthroughs with the ball during the game against CSK, and he batted with confidence against the LSG.

Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Sandeep Sharma, and Arshdeep Singh form the bowling attack

In the previous game, Sandeep Sharma was the most economical bowler, conceding only 18 runs in four overs while taking a wicket. Rabada also bowled a vital spell, assisting his team in limiting LSG to a par score of 153 runs. He took four wickets in the game, conceding 38 runs.

Rahul Chahar was fine against LSG, but his performance versus CSK was forgettable. He has been hot and cold in the game, whilst Arshdeep Singh has proven his value and proven to be an integral member of the squad with his dreamlike stretches. He has shown good performances, and the team will rely on him to contribute.
