IPL 2022 – The BEST Chennai Super Kings Playing XI to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad
The reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 group stage match on May 1 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune (Sunday). The Yellow Army enters the battle after losing their previous match by 11 runs to the Punjab Kings, and they will seek to put up a strong fight against their opponents in the following match. With Ravindra Jadeja stepping down as captain and MS Dhoni taking over, it will be fascinating to see if CSK’s fortunes improve immediately.
CSK and SRH have previously played each other this season, with the Orange Army winning by eight wickets with 2.2 overs remaining. After a superb 75-run knock, opening batsman Abhishek Sharma was named Player of the Match. CSK will aim to win their next encounter against SRH and get revenge on the Orange Army.
CSK, on the other hand, is currently in ninth place, having won only two of their eight matches. Only the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the five-time champion Mumbai Indians have beaten the Men in Yellow so far (MI). Despite losing their previous match, CSK will try to keep the same starting XI from that game.
Let’s take a look at the BEST Chennai Super Kings Playing XI to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa open the innings
CSK starter Ruturaj Gaikwad has been among the runs in the last few matches after a slow start to the season. The right-handed batter drove in 30 runs against PBKS and 73 runs against the Titans. However, the youthful hitter has not been at his best in the competition thus far and would like to contribute to his team’s success against PBKS.
Robin Uthappa, like Gaikwad, has been in and out of form during the edition. So far, the senior hitter has 228 runs from eight matches and two half-centuries, with a top score of 88 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Uthappa just made one run in the previous match and will aim to correct his mistakes in the forthcoming match.
Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, and MS Dhoni add depth to the middle order
In the last encounter, batsman Ambati Rayudu was the lone standout for his team, scoring 78 runs in 39 balls and nearly leading his team to victory. Similarly, with 247 runs from eight matches this season, Shivam Dube has been one of Chennai’s most reliable batters.
MS Dhoni, the senior player who is again back in charge, has demonstrated to the cricketing world that he is still capable of performing the finisher’s job to perfection. Dhoni scored 12 runs in eight balls in the previous encounter against PBKS and would like to continue his strong form with the bat against the Orange Army.
Ravindra Jadeja, Dwaine Pretorius, Mitchell Santner, and Dwayne Bravo form the all-rounder bunch
So far in the tournament, Ravindra Jadeja has not been at his best. The left-handed batter has only scored 112 runs in his last eight games, with his best score being an undefeated 26. Dwaine Pretorius, a South African all-rounder, scored one run in the previous encounter and gave out 50 runs in his four-over quota while being wicketless.
Veteran Dwayne Bravo has been the Yellow Army’s most successful bowler thus far in this round. The right-arm bowler has 14 wickets at an average of 18.50 in eight outings. The 38-year-old also took two critical wickets in the last game and will attempt to deliver some crucial breakthroughs in the next game.
Mitchell Santner has struggled to score runs at the number three position, and he would like to score some quick runs in the upcoming match to validate CSK management’s confidence in him by moving him up the order.
Maheesh Theekshana and Mukesh Choudhary are the bowling duo
Maheesh Theekshana, a spinner from Sri Lanka, has impressed in his first IPL season. In the five games he has played, the Sri Lankan bowler has taken eight wickets. Theekshana took a critical wicket of skipper Mayank Agarwal in the previous encounter and would like to continue his strong run with the ball in the next match as well.
Mukesh Choudhary was unable to get any wickets in the last match after performing admirably against the five-time champions MI. In addition, he handed up 36 runs in his four-over quota. In the next encounter, the 25-year-old would like to take some vital wickets early on.
