IPL 2022 – The BEST Mumbai Indians Playing XI to face the Lucknow Super Giants

The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face the newcomers Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their next IPL 2022 match on April 24 at Mumbai’s famous Wankhede Stadium (Sunday). MI has now lost seven consecutive games and is keen to get back on track in the league.

It should be noted that the Men in Blue and Gold have lost all seven of their games so far, with defeats coming against the Delhi Capitals (DC), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In IPL 2022, the Super Giants defeated the five-time champions once. KL Rahul, the LSG captain, was at his best, scoring a terrific century. As a result, MI was defeated by the tournament’s new team by an 18-run margin. MI suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of defending champions CSK in their previous encounter and will wish to use the same lineup in their upcoming fixture.

Let’s take look at the BEST Mumbai Indians Playing XI to face the Lucknow Super Giants.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan had an unforgettable encounter against Chennai Super Kings, as both batters returned to the pavilion without bothering the scorers. With the exception of a strong combination against the Delhi Capitals (DC), both Indian hitters have struggled to get going in the competition.

So far, Rohit has scored 114 runs in seven innings. His best game was a 41 versus the Capitals. Similarly, Ishan Kishan has scored 191 runs thus far in the campaign. The wicketkeeper-batter hammered 81 off 48 balls against DC but has struggled to keep up his momentum.

Dewald Brevis, a young South African batsman, struggled to get going in the previous match, scoring only four runs in seven balls. He has, however, scored 121 runs in the competition thus far, and he has done so at a rapid pace. The right-handed batter has shown some flashes of his skill, but he has yet to score some huge runs and would like to do so in the upcoming match.

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, both Indian batters, have been the most consistent performers for their respective franchises. Suryakumar Yadav has scored 232 runs in only five innings, whereas Tilak has scored 234 runs in seven innings. The teenage batsman also hit a half-century against the defending champions and will be looking to maintain his momentum.

Kieron Pollard of the West Indies has been uneven in his efforts in the IPL 2022 thus far. Pollard has failed to deliver a strong finish for his team, contributing only 96 runs in seven games. The right-handed hitter recently retired from international cricket and would want to play more freely for his IPL team.

Daniel Sams, an Australian all-rounder, returned to the MI playing XI for the last match and impressed, taking four wickets in his four-over quota. Similarly, Hrithik Shokeen performed admirably with the ball, conceding only 23 runs in his four-over quota in his maiden encounter. In addition, the 22-year-old scored 25 runs. Both all-rounders are anticipated to keep their positions in the starting XI.

So far in IPL 2022, the Men in Blue and Gold bowling team has struggled to take wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, one of their senior pacers, has only four wickets in seven matches. Even though Bumrah has been incredibly efficient with the ball, the five-time winners miss his wicket-taking powers.

In the previous encounter, left-arm bowler Jaydev Unadkat bowled well till his third over. However, veteran MS Dhoni hit 17 runs off his final one to help his team win the match. Riley Meredith of Australia was outstanding with the ball, taking the crucial wicket of CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja and conceding only 25 runs in his four-over quota in the previous match.
